Michael Swiger was born in Wheeling, West Virginia and raised in the Ohio Valley – a twenty mile depression along the Ohio River and hotbed for professional athletes, spawning future Hall of Famers Lou Groza, John Havlicek, Phil and Joe Niekro, Bill Mazaroski, and most recently Joey Galloway. Michael’s father played professional baseball in the 1940’s.

Michael studies Mechanical Engineer at Case Western Reserve University for three years before a cataclysmic calamity struck that forever altered the course of his life. Michael went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University in 1997 and immediately set to work on his first novel A Trial of Innocents, later published in 2000 under the pen-name Michael Andrew. This early book garnered rave reviews and encouraging Michael to write the sequel A Murder of Innocents. Both books are still in print.

Throughout the nineties Michael attended graduate school at the Reformed Theological Seminary, working toward a Master’s degree in Theology. This ultimately led to his current position on the pastoral staff at the Gospel House Church, where he works primarily as a chaplain in prison ministry.

2007 marked the beginning of a new phase in Michael’s publishing career, when he signed a three-book deal with Capstone Fiction. The first book, Lethal Ambition, was released in July 2007 to strong reviews, making consistent appearances on Amazon.com’s bestseller lists in both the Legal and Political thriller categories.

Michael lives in the Cleveland, Ohio area with his wife Susan and their newborn son James.
